I just saw a link to OCLC's new Classify project this morning:

http://deweyresearch.oclc.org/classify2/

While I'm sure it's been in the works for a while, I'm wondering if they're feeling some motivation to make some classification data more freely available & accessible.

It doesn't really relate to what's going on with the OSC, but I thought people here might be interested.

That's awesome. I love anything that tries to take the work librarians have been doing for decades and use that data in new ways.

I certainly hope they'll share. To me, it does relate, because it hints at an approach where using stats about existing classification systems could be used to build better ones.
